General Chemistry - Quiz Concepts

For the REDOX quiz you should be able to do the following:
  • Predict products of simple (Single Replacement and Combination) REDOX reactions
  • Balancing simple REDOX reactions
  • Identifying which reactants are undergoing oxidation and reduction
  • Determining the number of electrons transferred during the reaction
For the GALVANIC (voltaic) CELL quiz you should be able to do the following:
  • Construct a cell (on paper) using given materials/chemicals that produces a predetermined  voltage
  • Identify the anode/cathode and the reaction that is occurring at each electrode for a given galvanic cell
  • Show the direction of the flow of electrons in the cell
  • Calculate the voltage that will be produced from different combinations of chemicals
